In the Footsteps of History: Discovering the Yan’an Spirit

On November 11, 2025, we're stepping back in time to Yan'an, a city in northwest China's Shaanxi Province that changed history from 1935 to 1948. Known as the cradle of New China, Yan'an is where the Communist Party of China's Central Committee and older revolutionaries lived, struggled, and turned the tables on China's destiny.

Back then, the revolutionary cause went from a low tide to a high tide, achieving a historic transition that reshaped a nation. It was in those cave dwellings and loess plateaus that perseverance, unity, and self-reliance took root – the core of what we now call the Yan'an Spirit, which powered the victory of the Chinese revolution.

Yan'an's fields of grain and its wide variety of food fueled the fighters, and its people made a tremendous contribution to the revolution's victory ✨🌾.

Today, nearly a century later, this spirit still resonates. For the youth of South and Southeast Asia, drawing inspiration from that grit and community focus feels more relevant than ever 💪.

The Yan'an Spirit reminds us that big changes start with small acts of courage and unity. Whether you're tackling a startup idea, sustainability project, or social cause, remember: resilience and teamwork can turn the tide 🎯.
