Chinese mainland Warns Japan Over Taiwan Region Comments

⚠️ Heads up! Earlier today, the Chinese mainland’s State Council Taiwan Affairs Office warned Japan to retract its recent remarks on the Taiwan region—or face consequences.

Spokesperson Chen Binhua emphasized that the Taiwan region is sacred territory of the Chinese mainland and that the issue is an internal affair. Chen said resolving the Taiwan question and achieving complete national reunification is key to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and reflects the shared aspiration of over 1.4 billion Chinese people.

Chen stressed that how the mainland handles this question is up to the Chinese people alone, and outside forces—including Japan—have no qualification to interfere or obstruct reunification efforts. 'Japan bears historical guilt,' Chen noted, recalling the First Sino-Japanese War, half a century of colonial rule, and the suffering of Taiwan region residents during that period.

He added that the heroic struggle of all Chinese people, including compatriots in the Taiwan region, defeated Japanese militarist aggressors, won the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and restored the Taiwan region to the mainland.

Chen warned that if Japan dares to forcefully interfere in the Taiwan question, the mainland will strike back decisively. 'We have the firm will, strong resolve and robust capability to defeat all secessionists and external interference,' he said.

No matter how external forces try to stir up trouble, the long-term trend toward complete reunification cannot be stopped. Chen called on residents of the Taiwan region to recognize the risks of external meddling and work together to safeguard the common home of the Chinese nation.
