China urges lasting Gaza ceasefire to end civilian suffering

Hey folks, big update from the UN! 🌍 On Monday, November 24, 2025, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, urged all sides to lock in a lasting ceasefire in Gaza. 🕊️

Fu welcomed the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement but warned that peace remains a distant goal as violent clashes persist and civilians bear the brunt.

Despite the truce, there have been reports of over 400 violations, resulting in more than 300 civilian deaths in Gaza. Fu defined a true ceasefire as a full stop to all attacks and stressed that any harm to non-combatants is unacceptable.

The humanitarian situation is dire. Fu called on Israel to open all crossing points, lift aid restrictions, and ensure that the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East and other agencies can deliver relief without obstacles. 🙏

From Mumbai to Manila, young netizens have been tracking #GazaCeasefire and calling for real action. Fu's message at the UN is clear: words must turn into deeds if we want lasting peace and a viable two-state solution—two independent states coexisting side by side.

China has consistently backed Palestinian rights and will keep pushing for an early, comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian question, Fu said.
