China Says Japan’s Unchanged Taiwan Stance ‘Far From Enough’

ICYMI: Yesterday, Japan's Cabinet approved a statement insisting Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's latest remarks didn't budge Tokyo's Taiwan stance. Today in Beijing, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said hitting replay on "unchanged" is "far from enough" 🤯.

Mao Ning pointed out Japan must clearly say if it still sticks to the one-China principle – basically the idea that there's only one China, and Taiwan is part of it. She warned Takaichi's comments flouted key political agreements between the two sides and even shook up the postwar order.

"What exactly is this 'consistent position' Japan claims?" Mao asked. She insisted Tokyo give a straight-up, accurate clarification, not just repeat the same line.

China stressed Taiwan is purely an internal matter of the Chinese mainland and Japan has no right to intervene. Mao urged Tokyo to reflect, withdraw the slip-up ASAP, and back up words with real action 💪.

This diplomatic drama is unfolding faster than your fave binge-worthy series 🎬. Stay tuned for updates!
