Chinese Mainland Paddlers Smash Sixth Straight ITTF Win in Chengdu

Hey table tennis fans 🎉, the Chinese mainland paddlers just dropped a major win at the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu! On Thursday, December 4, 2025, the host squad smashed France 8-2, marking their sixth straight title defense. 🏓🔥

The opening mixed doubles was a thriller: world No.1 duo Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha toppled Alexis Lebrun and Jia Nan Yuan in straight games (11-7, 12-10, 11-5) to give the home crowd an early 3-0 lead. Then Wang Manyu powered through Prithika Pavade 11-9, 12-10, 11-2 for a 4-0 advantage.

Even when Felix Lebrun pulled one back against Liang Jingkun (6-11, 13-11, 11-7), the French side couldn’t stop the momentum. The Lebrun brothers tried to turn it around in men’s doubles but fell 8-11 in the decider against Wang Chuqin and Lin Shidong, sealing the Chinese mainland’s dominance.

"In the face of difficulties, we still need to stay focused and be patient to forge ahead," said Wang Manyu, summarizing the team’s winning mindset.
