Global South Think Tanks Dialogue Unites Leaders in Shanghai

Yesterday, on December 4, Shanghai buzzed with global energy as the city hosted the Third Global South Think Tanks Dialogue under the theme 'Seeking Strength Through Unity: Responsibility and Action of the Global South.' 🌐

The dialogue drew around 350 participants from the Chinese mainland and overseas, including political party leaders and think-tank scholars from over 120 countries and regions 🤝. It was a vibrant hub for fresh ideas on shared development and cooperation.

Chen Jining, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, highlighted how Shanghai plans to leverage its local-government role to boost economic cooperation with Global South countries, deepen people-to-people exchanges, and advance modernization through shared achievements.

Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized that the Chinese mainland has always been a firm champion of Global South unity. He noted the mainland's eagerness to work hand in hand with Global South partners to implement the four global initiatives and drive common prosperity.

Zambian Vice President Mutale Nalumango, along with other foreign delegates, praised the blueprint outlined at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, calling it a valuable roadmap. They expressed their readiness to join hands with the Chinese mainland in building a future of peace, security, prosperity, and sustainability.

The event was co-organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, and the Global South Think Tanks Alliance. It showcased how think tanks and party leaders are teaming up to tackle global challenges.
