Macron Calls for Global Teamwork in Chengdu 🌍🤝

On December 5, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron took the stage at Sichuan University in Chengdu to hammer home one key message: when facing global challenges, we're stronger together 🤝🌍.

As part of his three-day state visit, Macron pointed out that humanity is in the middle of big shifts in our habits, lifestyles and landscapes. Tackling the climate crisis, he said, isn't just about cutting emissions; it's about understanding each other, sharing ideas and brainstorming practical solutions as a team.

Macron highlighted that humanity has the power to unite beyond borders, setting a shared agenda for peace, prosperity and climate action built on respect and responsibility. It's a vibe we can relate to whether you're organizing a group project at uni or collaborating on a startup in your hometown.

He also spotlighted Sichuan University's growing links with France, from the Paris Institute of Political Studies to Toulouse. And fun fact: Chengdu and Montpellier have been sister cities since 1981 – proof that long-term friendship pays off.

Before heading home, Macron grabbed a paddle 🏓, teaming up with French paddlers at the 2025 ITTF Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu for a friendly match against local players. Because yes, diplomacy can be as casual (and as fun) as a game of table tennis!

In a world of walls and divides, Macron's message is clear: cooperation and mutual understanding aren't just buzzwords – they're the playbook for our shared future ✨.
