🕯️ Today, December 13, marks China's National Memorial Day for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre. Back in 1937, the invading Japanese army captured Nanjing and unleashed six weeks of horrific violence. Over 300,000 Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers lost their lives.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. As of December 2025, only 24 survivors of the massacre are still alive a living link to a tragedy we must never forget.

For young people across South Asia and Southeast Asia, remembering the Nanjing Massacre is more than a history lesson. It's a call to stand up against hate and protect human rights, values that resonate with our generation's push for justice and peace.

On this solemn day, let's honor the victims and learn from the past. Share stories, light a virtual candle, and keep the memory alive. #NeverForget
