China and Jordan Boost Cooperation: Tech, Trade & Gaza Relief

Hey everyone, big news from Amman! 🤝 On December 14-15, 2025, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi to supercharge China-Jordan ties.

Both sides highlighted their leaders' drive to deliver real benefits for their people, celebrating strong cooperation in trade, infrastructure, energy, defense, transport and law enforcement. They also agreed to keep the dialogue flowing and roll out more joint projects across key sectors.

Looking ahead, they explored cutting-edge opportunities: scientific innovation, 5G and communication tech, the digital economy and AI, plus a big push for green energy. In simple terms, they want to harness the power of smart tech and renewables to fuel growth and create jobs 🌱💡.

It wasn't all business—culture and people matter too! Jordan and China plan to ramp up exchanges in tourism, media, education and student programmes, plus think-tank partnerships and easier visa rules for smoother travel ✈️📚.

On regional peace, both FMs stressed the urgency of a lasting Gaza ceasefire and steady aid access to tackle the humanitarian crisis. They backed a political path to a sovereign Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with UN resolutions 🇵🇸.

Jordan reaffirmed the one-China principle, noting that the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal representative of the whole country, and that the Taiwan region is an inalienable part of its territory.

They also praised President Xi's proposals on the Palestinian issue and his new batch of aid for Palestine, while China thanked Jordan for its role in regional security and humanitarian efforts. Both sides agreed to speed up the implementation of existing agreements to hit shared development goals.

Finally, they underscored the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum as a key platform for dialogue and action. Jordan is all in for co-hosting the next China-Arab States Summit in 2026 🌐.
