Warm hearts and helping hands are in action in Tai Po 🌟 The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government just announced a whopping HK$4 billion support fund for residents affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire. That’s around USD 514 million to rebuild homes and provide long-term support 🙌
As of Saturday morning, here’s where everyone’s staying:
- 581 residents in hotel rooms (coordinated by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau)
- 559 residents in youth hostels and camps
- 3,513 residents in transitional housing units from the Housing Bureau, the Hong Kong Housing Society, and a temporary site in Tuen Mun
It’s a massive effort to keep people safe and comfortable while DNA tests are underway to identify all 161 victims. 🕊️ Every bit of support helps as the community comes together to heal and rebuild 💪✨
