China’s 2025 Space Milestones: Shenzhou-20 & 21 Launch Success

2025: A Stellar Year for China’s Space Program 🚀

This year, China’s manned space program celebrated the 55th anniversary of the Dongfanghong-1 satellite and marked its 10th Space Day with back-to-back successes. From a rare in-orbit emergency response to record-breaking astronaut feats, the mission pace is faster than ever.

Key Missions: Shenzhou-20 & Shenzhou-21

  • April 24: Shenzhou-20 lifted off as the fifth crewed flight in the space station’s development phase and the 35th mission overall. Commander Chen Dong joined first-timers Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie on this epic journey.
  • October 31: Shenzhou-21 soared skyward, carrying astronauts Zhang Lu, Wu Fei and Zhang Hongzhang to boost the station’s capabilities.
