Hey fam! 🚢 This week, Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) signed an EPC contract for the first phase of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island. It’s a big moment for Kuwait Vision 2035 and Belt and Road cooperation!
So what’s EPC? It stands for engineering, procurement & construction – basically an all-in-one deal where CCCC handles everything from design to building. Think of it like ordering a fully-loaded gadget out of the box! 🤯
The ceremony saw Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, cabinet ministers, and reps from the Chinese Embassy and enterprises. The PM called it a symbol of Kuwait-China friendship 🤝, while Liu Xiang, charge d’affaires at the embassy, hailed it as a milestone for high-quality Belt and Road projects.
Chen Zhong, deputy GM of CCCC, noted this is their first Middle East port project to Chinese standards, packing CCCC’s top tech and expertise from day one. They’re aiming for a model that shows off true China-Kuwait teamwork!
Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port is central to Kuwait’s plan to become a regional trade hub and diversify its oil-reliant economy. This flagship under Vision 2035 promises new jobs, smoother trade routes, and fresh growth beyond oil 💰🌍.
For our South Asia and Southeast Asia crowd, this project is another step in the region’s rising mega-infrastructure wave – from Pakistan’s Gwadar to Indonesia’s high-speed rail. Stay tuned as Kuwait and CCCC set sail on this next chapter of trade and tech! 🔥
