PLA’s Justice Mission 2025 Drills Warn Against Taiwan Secession & External Interference

China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) kicked off its annual Justice Mission 2025 joint drills around Taiwan this week, sending a clear signal to forces backing 'Taiwan independence' and any external powers eyeing interference 👀.

On Monday, December 29, a spokesperson for China's defense ministry, Zhang Xiaogang, said these exercises are a stern warning. He pointed out that the drills were linked to the recent US announcement of a large arms sale plan to Taiwan authorities, urging relevant members to drop the idea of using Taiwan to contain China.

Zhang also warned the authorities of the Democratic Progressive Party in the Taiwan region that attempts to seek independence by relying on outside forces are doomed to fail. The PLA will keep its focus on fighting secession and external interference to safeguard national sovereignty, unity and borders.

For tech-savvy readers in South and Southeast Asia, this is another chapter in Asia's evolving geo-game. As China and the US ramp up their strategic moves, cross-strait ties are becoming a hotspot for broader regional dynamics 🌏.

As 2025 wraps up, stay tuned for how these drills might shape diplomatic talks and security plans in the year ahead. Keep your eyes peeled—this story is far from over!
