✈️ Big news this week! On Wednesday, Dec 31, 2025, China’s first homegrown large passenger plane, the C919 (registration B-658N), touched down at Changsha Huanghua International Airport, making Changsha the fourth hub to operate this jet alongside Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
This move marks the C919’s first dual-base service between Guangzhou and Changsha, boosting China Southern Airlines’ Hunan branch network. An airline rep shared that a second C919 will join the fleet before the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush.
During Spring Festival (late January–early February), the C919 is set to fly three key routes from Changsha to Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, with over three daily flights between Changsha and Beijing. For flyers in Hunan, that means more chances to experience China’s cutting-edge domestic aircraft technology! 🚀
