Given the fragility of the fabric, with creases, stains, and damage accumulated over centuries, experts faced a significant challenge. By employing high-resolution photography, scanning, and 3D modeling, the team collected detailed data of the robe. Then, digital AI tools were used to reconstruct the missing textures, creating two stunning computer-generated 360-degree models – one showing the current state, and the other revealing its original splendor as it once was 2,000 years ago. As He Ye from the Hunan Museum explained, this side-by-side comparison allows visitors to witness an extraordinary transformation over time.
