Aug 17: The Israeli military announced a push deeper into Gaza City, urging residents to head south with promises of tents and aid. But on the ground in Khan Yunis, many feel it is just another chapter in decades of displacement and struggle.
A local stringer spoke with Mohammed Fusefis, a refugee who says everything is destroyed: food, water, even a roof over their heads is scarce right now 🍞
Then there is 81-year-old Hamdan Al-Breem, who has lived through every major conflict since 1948. He recalls hoping for a break after each war. This time though, it feels different—brutally so.
Despite fears for their children's future and the destruction around them, families here aren't giving up. They stick to their roots, determined to stay on their land no matter the cost.
While international voices call for condemnation, those on the ground just want a chance to rebuild and live in peace. If their spirit tells us anything, it is that hope is harder to bomb than walls 💪
