🚒 Firefighters, volunteers, and local rescue teams have been working non-stop through debris, searching for survivors and getting residents to safety. These torrents can form in minutes, carrying rocks, mud, and anything in their path.
🌊 For many of us in South Asia, the rush of these torrents can feel familiar – reminiscent of those sudden monsoon surges in the Himalayan foothills. In Gansu, narrow mountain channels turn into raging rivers almost instantly, making quick action vital.
🏠 Temporary shelters have been set up in schools and community centers, offering sleeping areas, charging stations, and hot meals. The local government is also mobilizing recovery support, providing funds, medical aid, and blankets to displaced families.
