Typhoon Wipha, the sixth this year, has unleashed severe flooding across central Vietnam, stirring concerns over flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
Local daily Nhan Dan reported that Nghe An province experienced water levels of 1 to 2 meters in several residential zones, leading to one tragic fatality and one injury. 😔
In Thanh Hoa province, landslides were triggered in eight locations, displacing over 20,000 cubic meters of earth and rock. The storm even blew the roofs off seven houses and submerged more than 8,000 hectares of rice fields, significantly affecting agriculture and local properties.
Now weakened into a tropical depression and moving west-southwest, Wipha's impact is a stark reminder of nature's power. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and follow local safety guidelines. 🙏
