My Day, My Rights: Amplifying Voices on World Children’s Day

November 20 is World Children's Day, and this year's theme, “My Day, My Rights,” calls on us to stop talking about kids and start listening to them. 👧👦

Despite promises, as of 2023, 272 million children and youth remain out of school. Many live in regions where schools lack basics: one in three has no sanitation, over half have no electricity, and two in three have no digital tools. 📉

Education is the key that unlocks every right. UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality Education for All by 2030, reminds us that learning reduces inequality, boosts health, and sparks innovation. But it only works if treated as a national priority, not an optional expense.

Grassroots action is already making a difference. In rural Nepal, mothers are learning skills like mushroom farming to support their families, and children who once worked in fields are back in classrooms. Local heroes—a banana farmer enrolling out-of-school kids and a principal rebuilding classrooms with personal savings—show how community power changes lives. 🤝

On this World Children's Day, let's turn promises into practice by listening to young voices and investing in education for all. Every child deserves a chance to learn, dream, and thrive. 🌱
