European Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva announced that EU research ministers will meet on May 23 to discuss strategic moves as about 75% of U.S. researchers are considering a change. In addition to expedited visas, the commission is rolling out a half‐billion‐euro research incentive program for 2025-2027 and plans to enshrine scientific freedom into law under the upcoming European Research Area Act set for 2026.
