Hey folks, today's update brings a heavy dose of reality. The UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports that Gaza is facing a catastrophic humanitarian crisis – the worst since the conflict erupted in October 2023.
Recent efforts saw five truckloads of vital medical supplies, destined for a field hospital in Deir Al-Balah, successfully enter Gaza after four quiet days. But the situation took a tragic twist when intense hostilities forced another 60 trucks to turn back, and many of the supplies were looted right at the crossing. 😢
Continuous airstrikes, severe malnutrition, and a breakdown in public order have compounded the crisis, with nearly 200,000 people displaced in just the past two weeks following an almost 80-day blockade. The last partially functioning hospital, Al Awda, was even forced to evacuate after repeated strikes, deepening the dire need for international support.
Meanwhile, in the West Bank, a surge in violence has resulted in more than 220 injuries and forced displacements within communities. This adds another layer of hardship as access to healthcare, education, and daily livelihoods becomes increasingly disrupted.
These revelations underscore an urgent call for safe, unimpeded humanitarian access and a full lifting of the blockade, so aid can properly reach millions in critical need. Every effort counts as communities call for accountability and a swift resolution to restore safety and stability. 💔
Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s keep the conversation going on how we can push for change and support those affected.
