⚡️ On December 13, 2025, Israel’s military confirmed it killed Ra'ad Sa'ad, the head of weapons production for Hamas’ military wing, in a strike in the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency said Sa'ad was one of the planners of the October 7, 2023 attack and “one of the last remaining senior militants” in Gaza. They accuse him of overseeing arms manufacturing even during the ceasefire.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the operation responded to a Hamas explosive device that wounded two reserve soldiers during a clearance mission in southern Gaza earlier that day.
Despite a ceasefire that began in October 2025, Israel has carried out additional strikes. According to Gaza’s health authorities, over 380 people have been killed and more than 1,000 injured in recent months.
