Chengdu vibes were on fire as the Chinese mainland clinched both the men’s and women’s breaking titles at the 2025 World Games! 🎉
B-Boy Lithe-ing’s epic comeback
20-year-old Qi Xiangyu, aka B-Boy Lithe-ing, shook off the sting of missing last summer’s Paris Olympic final with headspins, flips and acrobatics. He edged out Japan’s Isshin Hishikawa (B-Boy Issin) in a 2-1 showdown to grab gold—the first multi-sport-event title for a male Chinese mainland B-Boy.
B-Girl Royal reigns supreme
On the women’s side, 16-year-old Guo Pu, better known as B-Girl Royal, swept all three rounds against teammate Liu Qingyi (B-Girl 671). Fresh off her FISE World Series win in Montpellier and back-to-back Asian Youth and Asian Championship crowns, she’s cemented herself as a global breaking prodigy. 👑
This double victory shines a spotlight on the rising scene of breaking — aka breakdancing — across the region. From street cyphers in Mumbai to underground battles in Jakarta, young dancers are fired up to push boundaries and rack up their own gold. Who’s your favorite B-Boy or B-Girl? Let us know below! 👇🕺💃
