In the wake of the recent Tai Po fire, Hong Kong’s Primary Healthcare Commission has rallied a network of healthcare pros to offer free primary care and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to affected residents. This powerful community effort is easing the path to recovery for survivors. 👩⚕️👨⚕️
One volunteer doctor explains that they treat injuries, offer check-ups, and provide TCM consults—think acupuncture and herbal remedies—to help with stress and physical pain. Primary care means they’re your first stop for health needs, from wound care to basic prescriptions.
Local TCM practitioners are alongside modern medical teams, offering herbal teas and treatments known for boosting immunity and calming nerves. It’s like blending the best of both worlds to help people get back on their feet faster.
As of mid-December 2025, volunteers from community groups, NGOs, and student associations have set up pop-up clinics near the fire site, making healthcare as accessible as your neighbourhood chai stall in Mumbai or street clinic in Jakarta.
These clinics are open daily at key shelters and community centres across Tai Po—no ID or insurance required. Just walk in and get the care you need, free of charge.
This initiative shows how collective action and compassion can turn tragedy into hope. Stay safe and healthy, Tai Po! 💪✨
