In the midst of a severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, UNRWA—the United Nations agency for Palestine refugees—has slammed the current aid efforts. Spokesperson Jonathan Fowler emphasized, "This is an utter humanitarian tragedy," as only minimal supplies, mostly flour, trickle in.
Fowler explained that to meet basic survival needs, around 500 to 600 aid trucks per day are required. However, due to heavy restrictions and a strict blockade, the assistance has been far too limited, especially north of Khan Younis.
Tragically, the situation has come at a high cost. With nearly 12,000 staff risking their lives daily, more than 300 have lost their lives—often alongside their family members—in efforts to help those in desperate need. ⚠️
This stark reality calls for immediate action. The aid must flow unhindered to ensure that every resident in the Gaza Strip receives the vital support needed to survive.
