Hey everyone, here’s a quick update from Gaza. The Al-Amal hospital – one of the few medical facilities in the area – is now virtually out of service due to intense military activity, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained that access to the hospital is blocked, preventing many from getting the care they desperately need. Two emergency medical teams, one local and one international, are working tirelessly with very limited supplies 😔.
With Al-Amal closing down, the Nasser Medical Complex is now the only hospital in Khan Younis with an intensive care unit. This puts additional pressure on an already strained healthcare system amid prolonged blockade conditions.
Although some humanitarian aid has been allowed by the relevant authorities, it remains far below the required levels. This situation is a stark reminder of the challenges faced in conflict zones, where essential services struggle to keep up with overwhelming needs. Stay informed and join the conversation as we keep an eye on these critical developments.
