India Holds Off on B787 Crash Conclusions Until Final Report

India’s Federal Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu has urged caution as the authorities await the final report on the B787-8 crash. The 15-page preliminary report from the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) revealed that a cockpit confusion over the engine switch led to the fuel supply being cut off—raising new questions about the chain of events. However, no major fault was found with the aircraft or its engines.

Both Air India and Boeing have confirmed their continued support for the investigation. The tragic incident, which marked one of India’s worst aviation disasters in decades, occurred on June 12 after the London-bound Dreamliner took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. While the report sheds light on the final moments before the crash, officials stress that drawing conclusions now would be premature.

This unfolding story reminds us that even with state-of-the-art technology, human factors can create unexpected challenges. For all the tech-savvy and travel enthusiasts out there, stay tuned as the investigation moves forward and more details emerge. ✈️
