In a series of intense strikes, Gaza has been rocked by multiple Israeli air attacks over the past night, with at least 29 Palestinians reported dead. Among the victims are women, children, and locals caught in crucial humanitarian zones—like a water distribution point near a busy refugee camp in Nuseirat. 😢
Gaza City, central Gaza, and the coastal Al-Mawasi area have all been hard hit. One air strike near a family home in Nuseirat tragically claimed 10 lives, while a drone strike at a water point in an area for displaced people resulted in eight deaths, including six children.
Amid these developments, indirect ceasefire talks in Qatar have hit a standstill. Negotiations are stumbling over key issues: troop withdrawal demands, humanitarian aid, and plans for a permanent ceasefire. Recently, Israeli jets also targeted more than 35 designated areas in northern Gaza, adding to the mounting tension.
Qin Tian, deputy director at the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, noted that the deadlock is partly fueled by the U.S.' long-standing permissive stance toward Israel. With over 2 million residents displaced and humanitarian conditions worsening, the need for a balanced and lasting resolution has never been more urgent.
Our hearts go out to everyone caught in this turbulence. Stay safe and informed, and let's hope for progress on peace. 💔
