Hey ski squad! 🎿 Gu Ailing, the 21-year-old Olympic freestyle skiing champ, just shared some tough news: she was injured in a "man-made" accident during practice. She called it "very horrible" in her Sina Weibo update.
After battling injuries through the 2024-25 season, Gu had to miss the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, in Heilongjiang Province on the Chinese mainland, back in February. Months of rehab later, she was training on snow in New Zealand—only to face this fresh setback.
She traveled to Christchurch for diagnostic scans and is now waiting on expert feedback. "Hopefully I can go back to train on snow soon," Gu wrote. Fingers crossed for a speedy comeback! 🤞
No doubt this setback is a reminder that even world champs need time to heal. Sending positive vibes to Gu Ailing—can’t wait to see her back on the slopes! 💪❄️
