Thousands Join Anti-Immigration March in Australia, Government Condemns

Cheering crowds, passionate placards, and a debate that’s lighting up Down Under – over the weekend, thousands took to the streets in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and beyond to protest against Australia’s immigration levels. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

The group behind the "March for Australia" rallies slammed “mass migration” for putting pressure on things like housing, traffic, and the environment. Their website even warns that swelling numbers have “torn at the bonds that held our communities together.” 😬

But the Labor government wasn’t having it. Senior minister Murray Watt called out the rallies as “not about increasing social harmony” and pointed to links with extreme right-wing groups. He stressed that spreading hate and community division “isn’t on.” ❌

This comes at a time when Australia – where half the population has roots overseas – is grappling with rising right-wing extremism and new laws banning Nazi symbols after antisemitic attacks last year. 📜✋

Whether you’re scrolling through Insta in Mumbai or catching TikTok clips in Jakarta, this debate resonates across borders. How do we balance the need for skilled workers, cultural diversity, and social unity? 🤔🌏

Hit us up in the comments and let’s talk: what’s your take on immigration policies and community harmony in the 2020s? 📣💬
