IAEA and Iran Strike Deal to Resume Nuclear Inspections

In a major step to dial down tensions, the IAEA and Iran shook hands in Cairo on Tuesday to restart nuclear inspections. 🔍🤝

“This is an important step in the right direction,” said Rafael Grossi, the IAEA director general, who signed the deal alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

The move aims to satisfy France, Britain and Germany (the E3) by allowing inspections and clarifying Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile—key to pausing the so-called “snapback” (quick re-imposition) of sanctions set to kick in by month’s end.

But heads-up: it’s crunch time ⏳. Iran’s Araghchi warned that any hostile move—like reinstating cancelled UN Security Council resolutions—would nullify this agreement.

Background: Iran froze IAEA cooperation after Israeli-U.S. strikes on its nuclear sites and the killing of scientists in June. Yet the watchdog insists it’s kept open channels with Tehran.

From Mumbai to Manila, our region’s young pros are watching. A smooth inspection restart could reshape energy and security dynamics—so stay tuned! 🌏⚡
