Iran Slams G7 Accusations as Baseless and Irresponsible

Here’s the lowdown on the latest Iran-G7 showdown: 🤔

On Friday, G7 members and partners accused Iran and its intelligence services of 'transnational repression and other malign activities, such as attempting to kill, kidnap and harass political opponents abroad.'

But on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry fired back, calling the claims 'baseless and irresponsible.' They slammed the accusations as 'false,' labeling them a 'flagrant distortion of realities and a hypocritical projection by those … who have themselves led to the spread of law-breaking and escalation of insecurity in different parts of the world.'

What’s 'transnational repression'? It’s when a government tries to silence or target critics outside its own borders—something Iran strongly denies. 🌍

Iran also urged the G7 to own up to their actions, pointing to what it called their 'complicity and partnership in Israel’s flagrant violations of international law' in the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a world where news is a swipe away, this diplomatic clash shows how complex foreign policy can spark debates from Tehran to New Delhi to Jakarta. Stay tuned for more global updates! 🌐
