Gaza Crisis: UN Warns of ‘Appalling Impact’ on Civilians

📢 The UN has slammed the latest Israeli attacks in northern Gaza, calling the "appalling impact" on civilians a major crisis. Dozens have been killed or injured amid heavy strikes across Gaza City, leaving families with nothing but fear and hunger. 😢

Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, condemned this deadly escalation. "We reiterate our call for the protection of civilians and humanitarian personnel, and full respect for international law," he said.

Thousands of displaced people have been forced onto Al Rashid Road—the only route south—after heavy bombings, according to OCHA (the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs). Overcrowding, disrupted water and power, and limited aid convoys are making an already dire situation worse.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees), warns that air strikes hit 10 Gaza City shelters—seven schools and two clinics—in just four days. These safe spaces are now in ruins, leaving displaced families with almost no refuge 🆘.

The World Food Program adds that families fleeing north Gaza are running out of resources. With food in short supply, malnutrition is soaring—especially among children. Gaza health authorities report 425 deaths from starvation since October 7, about one-third of them kids. 🍞

Meanwhile, Francesca Albanese, the UN rights expert on Palestine, accused Israel of making Gaza City "unlivable" and endangering hostages. Israel counters that the offensive aims to defeat Hamas and has urged civilians to move south to a designated humanitarian zone.

On social feeds—whether you’re scrolling in Mumbai or Manila—#GazaCrisis and #HumanitarianAid are trending. Young people are sharing stories, urging aid, and calling for peace. 🌐

As the crisis deepens, staying informed and supporting reputable relief agencies can help protect lives. Every voice counts. ✨
