Trump, Netanyahu to Meet Amid Intensifying Gaza Hostage Crisis

Hey fam! President Trump is gearing up for a big chat with Prime Minister Netanyahu this Monday as the situation in Gaza takes a tense turn 🤝

Israeli tanks have rolled deeper into Gaza City, and the military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, says it’s lost touch with two hostages trapped in the area. They’ve called for a 24-hour pause in strikes to reach them, but Israel’s military isn’t hitting the brakes.

Authorities have urged residents in parts of Gaza City — including the Sabra district — to evacuate immediately. The goal? Target suspected Hamas positions and clear out buildings before strikes. It’s part of a wider ground offensive that’s already flattened whole neighbourhoods and pushed hundreds of thousands of people towards makeshift tent camps 🚧

The Gaza Health Ministry reports at least 77 people killed by Israeli fire in the last day. Local emergency teams say dozens of pleas for help from those trapped went unanswered. Gaza’s Civil Emergency Service also revealed 73 rescue requests were denied despite going through international organizations.

Meanwhile, Egypt stepped up by sending nearly 3,000 tonnes of aid via a huge humanitarian convoy, thanks to the Egyptian Red Crescent. Yet food shortages and malnutrition are still claiming lives — Gaza’s health authorities say 422 people, including 145 children, have died from hunger-related issues since the conflict began.

As global eyes turn to Washington and Jerusalem, all focus is on what this Trump-Netanyahu meeting will bring. Will it ramp up pressure for hostage releases or push for pauses in fighting? Stay tuned — we’ll keep you updated 📲
