Eight Arab and Muslim-majority nations — Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Qatar — have jointly welcomed Hamas response to US President Donald Trump’s blueprint for a ceasefire in Gaza 🤝
These nations praised Hamas for accepting steps toward halting the fighting, releasing hostages and setting up talks on how to put the plan into action. They also noted Hamas readiness to hand over Gaza administration to a temporary team of independent experts, aiming for a smooth transition and stability in the Strip.
On the other side, they echoed Trump call for Israel to stop its bombing campaign and start the agreed exchange process. Many see this as a chance to pause the violence, open humanitarian corridors and bring critical aid to civilians struggling with food and shelter shortages 🕊️
Beyond the immediate ceasefire, the ministers urged a wider push for long term peace based on a two-state solution. They want the Palestinian Authority back in Gaza, unity between Gaza and the West Bank, full Israeli withdrawal, and a major rebuilding effort once guns fall silent 🏗️
Just one day before, Egypt announced it would host both Israeli and Hamas delegations to work out the details for the hostage and prisoner swap. With lives on the line and infrastructure in ruins, every step toward dialogue feels urgent.
Since the conflict reignited on October 7, 2023, Gaza health authorities report more than 67,000 Palestinians killed and nearly 170,000 injured, alongside widespread destruction and looming famine 😢
