Hey fam! This week, Nyingchi City in the Xizang Autonomous Region was buzzing as over 400 leaders, experts & media reps from 44 countries and regions gathered for the 2025 Forum on the Development of Xizang, China 🌍🏔️.
Hosted by the Xizang regional government, the one-day event was all about exploring how to write a fresh chapter for this stunning highland—think smarter infrastructure, sustainable industries & a vibrant plateau culture. Key topics? International communication, the CPC’s vision for modernizing Xizang, and telling the story of human rights and well-being in the region.
Mo Gaoyi from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee kicked things off by noting that Xizang’s modernization stands at a new historical starting point, with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan around the corner. It’s all about leveling up the lives of residents, sharing governance know-how, and boosting cultural exchange ✨.
On behalf of the UN, UNESCO’s Shahbaz Khan highlighted the transformation: “The once-remote valleys are now connected through modern roads, railways & digital networks—making education, healthcare & markets more accessible.” Talk about mountain magic turned modern marvel! 🚆📱
With four sub-forums diving into sustainability, youth engagement, environmental protection & global outreach, participants also explored real-world examples. Early birds toured high-altitude pastures in Lunang Township, visited local villages & checked out a lush wetland park in Nyingchi—proof that eco-tourism and community growth can go hand in hand.
This 8th edition of the Forum on the Development of Xizang is more than a conference—it’s a live blueprint for a brighter, greener, more connected plateau. Stay tuned as Xizang charts its course toward a modern future! ✌️
