In a friendly phone call this Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated China’s objective and fair stance on Iran’s nuclear issue to his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi. 🤝📞
Wang, who is also a member of China’s top leadership, noted that the current stalemate is counterproductive to the international community. He applauded Iran’s recent promise not to develop nuclear weapons and backed Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear energy (think powering homes, hospitals, and industries). 🔋🏥
Calling for all sides to keep the conversation alive, Wang urged everyone to bring the issue back to the negotiation table. “Dialogue is the roadmap to trust,” he said, highlighting China’s role as a mediator committed to fairness.
Araghchi thanked China for its balanced approach and constructive efforts. He emphasized Iran’s readiness to boost communication and cooperation on principles of equality and mutual benefit.
With the 55th anniversary of China–Iran diplomatic ties coming up next year, Wang underscored the two countries’ successful head-of-state meeting in September. He stressed that both sides are eager to implement agreed plans, deepen strategic cooperation, and elevate their comprehensive partnership to new heights. 🎉🤝
Wang also praised Iran’s support for China’s four major global initiatives and voiced a shared ambition to build a fairer, more equitable global governance system.
Looking ahead, Araghchi said Iran values its relationship with China and will use the upcoming anniversary as a chance to ramp up high-level exchanges, explore fresh cooperation areas, and work together on regional peace, stability, and development. 🌏✨
