Hey hoop fam, big news dropped! 🏀 Chris Paul, aka CP3, just announced he’ll hang up his kicks at the end of this 2025-26 season. The 40-year-old shared on social media: “What a ride… Still so much left… GRATEFUL for this last one!!”
With 12 All-Star nods and nine All-Defensive selections, CP3 is the active king of assists and steals. He’s second all-time in both, right behind Hall of Famer John Stockton.
Over his 21-year journey, Paul averaged 16.9 points and 9.2 assists per game. Alongside LeBron James, he’s one of only two players to hit 20,000 points and 10,000 assists!
Drafted fourth overall by the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) in 2005 after a standout run at Wake Forest, CP3 helped spark the Clippers’ legendary “Lob City” era with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. He’s also suited up for the Rockets, Thunder, Suns, Warriors and Spurs.
In his latest outing, he dropped 3 points, 3 boards and 8 assists in a 131-116 road win over Charlotte—becoming the first player ever with 20k points, 6k rebounds and 12k assists!
Coach Ty Lue says Paul’s legacy speaks volumes, and finishing in LA makes it even sweeter. Teammate James Harden praised his leadership and calm presence, saying every squad he’s joined instantly got better.
Across South Asia and Southeast Asia, from Chennai balconies to Jakarta courts, CP3’s craft and court vision have inspired a new generation of ballers. Here’s to the final chapter of a true NBA great! 🙌🎉
