Two-State Solution Highlighted on International Solidarity Day

Today, Saturday, Nov 29, 2025, the world marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. 🕊️ This year’s theme is the urgent push for a two-state solution, seen by many as the only viable path to lasting peace.

Since early October, the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire has been in effect, but the truce remains fragile. Israeli airstrikes and ground operations are still happening, and formal talks on the next phase are on hold. In the West Bank, tensions are rising as military operations continue and settler attacks have surged—UN OCHA data shows over 1,500 incidents this year. 📈

At a UN event, Courtenay Rattray, Chef de Cabinet of the UN chief, reaffirmed the right of Palestinians to statehood and urged an end to the occupation, calling for irreversible progress toward two states based on the 1967 borders. 🌍

China also reaffirmed its stance, sending a message that a two-state solution is irreplaceable and non-negotiable. At the UN Security Council, Ambassador Fu Cong stressed the need to oppose any unilateral moves that could undermine peace efforts.

Experts say concrete steps are key: establishing a Palestinian state, ensuring Gaza’s stability, and withdrawing troops. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari also voiced support for an independent Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital. 🤝

For young people across South and Southeast Asia, this day is a reminder that global solidarity can shape tomorrow’s world. Let’s keep the conversation alive—peace starts with understanding and action. ✌️
