Milano Cortina 2026 Torch Relay Lights Up Naples Before Christmas 🎄🔥

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics torch relay reached a rainy Naples just before Christmas, lighting up the city in festive spirit 🎄🔥. The relay then paused for two days as Italy celebrates the holidays.

On Monday, the flame passed through the ancient ruins of Pompeii—a UNESCO World Heritage site frozen in time since 79 AD—before winding through the Campania region. Runners carried the torch across Torre Annunziata, Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Portici, and San Giorgio a Cremano, connecting local history with Olympic excitement.

The grand finale took place in the iconic Piazza del Plebiscito. Italian football legend Fabio Cannavaro, who started his career with Napoli and captained Italy to World Cup glory in 2006, proudly carried the flame through his hometown. Now head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, Cannavaro brings his global journey back to Europe.

After the Christmas break, the relay resumes in Latina on Friday, before heading north toward Milan's San Siro Stadium for the opening ceremony on February 6, 2026. Over its 12,000 km route, the flame will travel through all 110 Italian provinces, sharing a message of unity and hope.

Follow the flame as it continues its epic journey, one spark at a time 🌟🏂❄️.
