This year (2025), Iranians have lived under the prolonged shadow of war, sanctions and repression. Back in June, a 12-day conflict shook the region. Six months later, Israel has warned it could strike Iran again.
On Wednesday, December 24, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at an event that Israel is closely watching Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran as they rearm, and would act if needed ⚠️
"We are not looking for confrontations, but our eyes are open to any possible danger," Netanyahu stated before flying to the United States for a year-end meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to an Israeli official, the two leaders will meet later this week to assess Iran's progress on ballistic missiles (long-range rockets that can carry warheads) and discuss the prospect of further military action.
The standoff adds fresh uncertainty to a region still reeling from conflict and tight sanctions. Stay tuned as we track what comes next 😯
