Hey fam 📰, tensions are spiking in Aleppo! On Friday, the Syrian army shot down hostile drones launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) toward military positions near the Tishreen Dam in eastern Aleppo. 🚁💥 State media called it a clear violation of the March 10 agreement between Damascus and the SDF.
The army intercepted the drones before they could hit their targets, according to state-run SANA. At the same time, SDF forces struck an Internal Security checkpoint near al-Shihan roundabout, injuring one security officer. 🚨
Mohammad Abdel Ghani, commander of Internal Security in Aleppo province, said SDF snipers in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh opened fire while officers were guiding civilians. He urged locals to steer clear of conflict zones for their safety and warned that further violations will be met with necessary measures. ⚠️
The SDF says its fighters near the roundabout took shelling from pro-government factions and responded in a limited way. 🤝
These incidents come amid rising tensions after weeks of armed confrontations, sniper attacks, and finger-pointing. The March 10 deal was meant to integrate northeastern Syria’s military and admin structures into state institutions, protect territorial unity, and de-escalate clashes. But its rollout has been stalled, with both sides accusing each other of breaking the peace.
For now, civilians are stuck in the middle. Let’s keep an eye on how this standoff unfolds and hope for a real path to calm. 🌍✌️
