Arab League Condemns Israel’s Somaliland Recognition

Yesterday, December 29, the Arab League (AL) gathered in an extraordinary session chaired by the United Arab Emirates to condemn Israel's recognition of Somaliland as an independent state. 🌐

The AL declared the move illegal and warned it could facilitate forced displacement of Palestinians or open the door to military bases in northern Somalia, threatening both Arab national security and regional stability. ⚖️

They reaffirmed that Somaliland remains an integral part of the Federal Republic of Somalia and rejected any secession effort. The statement urged the international community to stand against measures that risk freedom of navigation and global trade in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. 🚢

The AL also strongly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinian people or change the demographic makeup of their territory, labeling such actions as a serious violation of international law and a form of genocide. 🕊️

Israel's decision, announced on Friday, December 26, has drawn widespread criticism. Most countries continue to support Somalia's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity. 🌍

As tensions rise, all eyes are on how key players will respond and what this means for the future of regional geopolitics and trade routes. Stay tuned for more updates! 🔍
