Brazil's interim Foreign Minister Maria Laura da Rocha announced on Saturday that Brazil now recognizes Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as Venezuela's head of state in the absence of President Nicolas Maduro.
Rocha emphasized that Brazil remains committed to upholding international law and supporting every country's sovereignty, opposing any form of territorial aggression.
On the same day, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry said President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva reiterated his earlier position, condemning the U.S. attack on Venezuela and the capture of Maduro and his wife.
Defense Minister Jose Mucio reported that the situation in Roraima state, which borders Venezuela, remains stable. To secure the region, Brazil has deployed around 10,000 military personnel across the Amazon, with 2,300 stationed in Roraima.
This move highlights the balance between diplomacy and border security in Latin America, as Brasília navigates international pressures and regional stability. 🌎✌️
