French FM: ‘Greenland is not for sale’ amid US threats

🛑 'Greenland is not for sale,' declared French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in a fiery interview with Radio France on Wednesday. He stressed that Greenland belongs to its people, and any decisions about its future must come from talks between Greenlandic and Danish authorities.

Barrot also reminded listeners that 'it makes no sense for one NATO member to attack another' – a move he said would go against U.S. interests. He even spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday, who reportedly ruled out a Venezuela-style takeover in Greenland.

However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shocked many by revealing that President Donald Trump's team is considering 'a range of options' to acquire Greenland, including using the U.S. military. This comes after U.S. forces launched a daring strike on Venezuela last Saturday, seizing President Nicolás Maduro and his wife – an operation that sparked global outrage.

In response to these developments, Barrot made clear that France won't stand by. He plans to coordinate with European partners, starting with discussions with the foreign ministers of Germany and Poland. 'We're ready to act,' he said, 'but together.'

For young global citizens watching these high-stakes maneuvers, the message is clear: sovereignty matters, alliances matter, and the world is watching. 🌍✨
