Mass Graves of 21 Migrants Found in Eastern Libya

⚠️ Earlier this month, Libyan authorities uncovered mass graves holding the remains of 21 migrants during a security raid on a private farm in Eastern Libya. The Internal Security Agency (ISA) revealed that the victims—people from various countries—were allegedly killed by a suspect with a prior criminal record, now in custody.

During the operation, officers also found a makeshift detention site on the same property. Reports say several migrants were held against their will, some arriving with gunshot wounds and serious health issues. Injured individuals were rushed to Martyr Mohammed Al-Muqrif Central Teaching Hospital in Ajdabiya for urgent care.

Local outlets Al-Wasat and Al-Shahid noted that the ISA had conducted detailed surveillance and intelligence work before the raid. This discovery sheds light on the ongoing dangers migrants face along smuggling routes, echoing crises in our own region—from Rohingya camps in Bangladesh to boat crossings off Indonesia.

For many young people, this stark reminder highlights the importance of #MigrantRights and global solidarity. 🙌 Let’s stay informed, support humanitarian efforts, and raise awareness about the people risking everything for a safer future.
