Hey fam, the Gaza ceasefire from October 10 just hit 100 days this week, and UN humanitarians are raising the alarm 🚨. They say aid deliveries are still being blocked by restrictions and even recent harsh weather is slowing things down.
In their latest report published on Friday, Jan 16, 2026, OCHA highlighted that Gaza’s health authorities recorded 14 deaths and 23 injuries in just 48 hours, pushing the total since the ceasefire to 463 fatalities and 1,269 wounded.
The World Food Programme reaches over one million people every month with food parcels, bread bundles, hot meals and school snacks. But they’re calling for more safe routes from Egypt and Jordan, plus along Gaza’s Salah Ad Din road, to speed up deliveries and boost security.
On the health front, WHO, UNICEF and UNRWA kicked off the second round of a catch-up immunization campaign for kids under three, running until Thursday, Jan 22, 2026. It’s happening at nearly 130 health centers with 170 teams and 7 mobile units in hard-to-reach spots. A third round is set for April 2026.
Meanwhile in the West Bank, on Monday Jan 19, Israeli forces imposed curfews on about 25,000 residents in Hebron’s H2 area, deploying military vehicles, snipers and closing six internal roads. Four bakeries shut down and two UN-voucher shops serving roughly 4,000 people can’t open. Over a dozen schools paused classes, affecting thousands of students.
The curfew also came after major electricity cuts hit the area over the weekend, following damage to a power station. Efforts are now underway to get technicians in and restore power. Plans are in motion for medical evacuations and online schooling where possible, but families stuck at home still struggle to access food, medicine and other essentials.
As the ceasefire marks its 100-day milestone, UN agencies stress that keeping it intact and opening humanitarian corridors is crucial to protect civilians and save lives 🙏.
